Camp Hertko Hollow's Family Diabetes Education Retreat and Teen Retreat is scheduled for Friday - Sunday, April 5-7, 2013 at the Y-camp, north of Boone, Iowa. Children with diabetes of all ages are encouraged to attend with their family members, close friend, grandparents, and even babysitters to learn about managing diabetes.

It's a wonderful opportunity for former campers to share the camp experience with their families. Newly diagnosed children or children who haven't attended summer camp yet will get a taste of what summer camp is all about. Everyone can learn from health professionals and meet "experienced parents" who can offer support and give tips. Children will have fun activities such as horseback riding, archery, climbing wall, hiking and more.

The Family Diabetes Education Retreat has been expanded to include 2 nights (Friday evening thru Sunday morning) or choose to come for only 1 night. Your entire family can attend with child with diabetes and stay overnight in a cabin - just like summer camp. A special Teen Retreat will be held separately for 13-17 year olds.

Cost is $75 per person for 2 nights with 5 meals or $50 per person for Saturday seminar only or with 1 night.
